Sony will release The 7th Voyage of Sinbad on 7 October. This classic Ray Harryhausen adventure will arrive on BD with a 1.66:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, a commentary track by various cast, crew members, scholars, and Harryhausen fans, and one featurette. SRP is $28.95.
















First Look will release Kill Switch on 7 October. This Steven Seagal actioner – also starring Holly Dignard and Karyn Michelle Baltzer – will arrive on DVD with an anamorphic widescreen transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, and a set of previews. SRP is $28.98.
















Sony has announced plans to release You Don’t Mess With the Zohan on Blu-ray on 7 October. This latest Adam Sandler comedy will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, a huge slate of featurettes, gag reels, a set of deleted scenes, and a BD-exclusive Translating the Zohan graphics-in-picture track. SRP is $38.96.















Sony will release Standard Operating Procedure on Blu-ray on 14 October. This acclaimed new documentary from Oscar winner Errol Morris will arrive with a 2.40:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, a Morris commentary, deleted scenes, two hours of additional interview footage, and three featurettes. SRP is $38.96.















Fox is releasing Futurama: Bender’s Game on Blu-ray on 4 November. This made-for-disc adjunct to the hugely popular animated series will get a 1080p transfer and most likely a DTS-HD 5.1 track, but specs and bonuses are still TBD. SRP is $39.98.



Sony will release Kabluey on 16 September. This dramedy starring Lisa Kudrow and Christine Taylor will arrive with a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, and a set of deleted scenes. SRP is $24.96.
















No specs or bonus features have been announced, but we have it on good authority that Sony is preparing a February 2009 Blu-ray release of the cult-favorite Taxi Driver. A full announcement should be made sometime early this fall, and we’ll let you know more then. SRP is $28.95.
















Well, they’re here… specs for the 4 November Fox release of Planet of the Apes: 40-Year Evolution. This 5-disc Blu-ray release will present all Apes movies with 2.35:1 1080p transfers and DTS-HD 5.1 tracks, and will come with seven new HD featurettes, a Bonus View feature in which scientists discuss the facts and fictions of the franchise, a new set-top game, isolated 5.1 DTS Master Audio scores for each film, as well as all the bonuses that were included on the mega-POTA set released in 2006 (commentaries, featurettes, stills gallerys, etc.). SRP is $159.98.







More info has been made available for Fox’s 21 October release of Family Guy: Volume Six. This latest release of the hit Fox animated series will arrive with 1.33:1 transfers, Dolby Surround 2.0 tracks, commentary on every episode with voice cast and crew members, some bonus episodes, featurettes, deleted scenes, a music video, and the option for “censored” audio on each episode. SRP is $39.98.

Full specs have been announced for Sony’s 28 October Blu-ray release of Zombie Strippers. This ridiculous-looking masterwork will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, a commentary by director Jay Lee, actors Jenna Jameson, Robert Englund, and Joey Medina, deleted scenes (with optional commentary), two featurettes, and a BD-exclusive trivia track. SRP is $38.96.















18 November will bring the Blu-ray release of Mad Money from Anchor Bay. This Diane Keaton/Queen Latifah heist comedy will arrive with a 1080p transfer, but audio specs and bonus features are yet to be confirmed. SRP is $34.95.

















Blue Underground will release The Stendhal Syndrome on 18 November. This Dario Argento horror flick will arrive with a 1.66:1 1080p transfer, both DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 tracks, and a set of interviews. SRP is $34.95.
















Genius Products and The Weinstein Company have announced the 28 October release of Houdini’s Death Defying Acts. This Guy Pearce drama will arrive on DVD with an anamorphic widescreen transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, and a set of bonuses that are TBD. SRP is $19.98.
















9 December will bring the Blu-ray release of Dr. Strangelove… from Sony. This classic Stanley Kubrick comedy starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott will arrive with a 1080p transfer, but audio specs and bonus features are still TBD. SRP is $28.95.
















We have received official word that New Line and Warner are preparing a 23 September Blu-ray release of Sex and the City. This blockbuster film based on the legendary HBO series will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DolbyTrueHD 5.1 track, featurettes, interviews, and two BD-exclusive interactive features (more word on those as info comes our way). SRP is $35.99.















Universal has announced plans to release Ang Lee’s The Hulk on Blu-ray on 16 September. This Eric Bana actioner will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track, and all the bonuses that were included on the film’s HD DVD release: a Lee commentary, deleted scenes, some featurettes, and two U-Control features. SRP is $29.98.















MGM will release the horror classic Carrie on Blu-ray on 7 October. This Sissy Spacek freak-fest will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 track, and a slate of bonuses that are TBD. SRP is $39.98.

















Image Entertainment will release The Who: Kilburn 1977 on Blu-ray on 18 November. This concert film featuring one of the great classic rock bands of all time will arrive with a 1.78:1 1080p transfer, a Lossless DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track, and some bonus performances. SRP is $29.98.



Warner will release Snow Angels on 16 September. This David Gordon Green-directed drama starring Kate Beckinsale will arrive on DVD with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and a Dolby Digital 5.1 track. No bonuses will be included. SRP is $27.95.















First Look will released Day of the Dead on Blu-ray on 2 December. This remake of the classic zombie flick will arrive with a 1080p transfer, but that’s all we have as of yet. SRP is $24.98.

















Sony will release NewsRadio: The Complete Series on 28 October. This amazing sitcom starring Dave Foley and Phil Hartman will arrive with 1.33:1 transfers, stereo tracks, and all the bonuses that were included on the show’s season-by-season releases (featurettes, gag reels, commentaries, etc.). SRP is $59.95.















First Look has announced plans to release Immortal on Blu-ray on 2 December. This fantasy film based on the work of graphic artist Enki Bilal will arrive with a 1080p transfer, but that’s all we know for know. SRP is $24.98.

















Nothing concrete can be announced, but we have it on good authority that Sony is preparing a 2 December Blu-ray release of their big summer blockbuster, Hancock. It’s early, so we have no news on specs or bonuses or SRP.

















First Look will release The Cosby Show: The Complete Series on 11 November. This comprehensive collection of episodes from the groundbreaking sitcom will arrive with 1.33:1 transfers and stereo tracks. Bonuses are TBD. SRP is $124.98.
















Fox has announced a 9 December Blu-ray release of Horton Hears a Who. This Jim Carrey-voiced hit will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a Lossless DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track, a commentary by directors Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino, an Ice Age short, a set of featurettes, some deleted footage, animated screen tests, a set-top game, and a BD-exclusive Bonus View Technology with which you can watch the film along with a Who. SRP is $39.98.














9 December will bring the Blu-ray release of MirrorMask from Sony. This Neil Gaiman/Jim Henson Studios production will arrive with a 1080p transfer and a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, but the release’s bonus slate is still TBD. SRP is $28.95.
















Dark Sky Films will release the original 1973 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Blu-ray on 30 September. This legendary scare from Tobe Hooper will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a DTS 5.1 track, five featurettes, a set of commentaries featuring Hooper, actors Gunnar Hansen, Marilyn Burns, Paul A. Partain, Allen Danzinger, and art director Robert A. Burns, a gag reel, deleted scenes, and a stills gallery. SRP is $28.95.














The John Cusack and Morgan Freeman drama The Contract is headed to Blu-ray from First Look on 28 October. The film will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-5.1 track, a picture-in-picture commentary track, a featurette, and a stills gallery. SRP is $24.95.
















Universal will release Eastern Promises on Blu-ray on 14 October. This drama starring Viggo Mortensen and Naomi Watts and directed by David Cronenberg will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track, and two featurettes. SRP is $29.98.
