Pinocchio: 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition will be released by Buena Vista on March 10, 2009 as high definition BD and standard definition DVD 2-Disc editions. The 2-Disc Blu-ray release includes a bonus standard definition DVD allowing viewers to enjoy Pinocchio even before they upgrade to Blu-ray Disc. The DVD supplements include text trivia, an audio commentary by Leonard Maltin, Eric Goldberg and J. B. Kaufman, Disney Song Selection sing along, No Strings Attached: The Making of Pinocchio, Deleted Scenes, The Story of the Grandfather Tree, In The Belly Of The Whale, Alternate Ending, The Sweat Box, Live Action Reference Footage, Pinocchio Art Galleries, Deleted Songs, and Pinocchio Puzzles. The Blu-ray Disc will feature BD Live web-based extras, all the supplements found on the DVD, plus the Pinocchio Knows Trivia Challenge. The video will be in the 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The DVD will offer a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, while the BD will have an as yet to be defined 7.1 channel track. The DVD SRP will be $29.99 and the BD SRP will be $35.99.
