The Steven Seagal thriller Kill Switch is coming to Blu-ray Disc from Momentum Pictures on 23 February. No technical specifications have been announced, save for a 1080p video presentation. SRP is $34.95.




















David Lean’s Hobson’s Choice is coming to DVD from Criterion in February (exact date TBD). This rare Lean comedy will arrive with a 1.33:1 transfer, a mono track, a commentary by scholars Alain Silver and James Ursini, a documentary about star Charles Laughton, and the movie’s original trailer. SRP is $39.95.


















Early word has been received for a 27 January Blu-ray Disc release of RocknRolla from Warner. This new Guy Ritchie crime caper starring Gerard Butler will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a commentary track (participants TBD), some deleted scenes, and two featurettes. Audio specifications haven’t yet been confirmed. SRP is $35.99.


















The Criterion Blu-ray Disc release of Chungking Express has been delayed. The Wong Kar-Wai film’s high definition debut will now hit shelves on 16 December. Specifications remain as previously announced: a 1.66:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, a commentary by scholar Tony Rayns, a featurette, and the film’s U.S. trailer. MGM will release IGOR on Blu-ray Disc on 20 January. This animated comedy featuring the voice talents of John Cusaack and John Cleese will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 track, some deleted scenes, a blooper reel, a featurette, and two BD-exclusive goodies: an alternate opening; and, a commentary by director Tony Leondis, screenwriter Chris McKenna, and producer Max Howard. SRP is $39.99.

















MGM has announced plans to release Ronin on Blu-ray Disc on 24 February. This Robert De Niro thriller from director John Frankenheimer will arrive with a 1080p transfer and a DTS-HD 5.1 track. It doesn’t look like any bonus features will be included. SRP is $34.99.



















The Third Man’s Blu-ray Disc debut has been postponed. The Carol Reed thriller will arrive on high definition from Criterion now on 16 December. The film will have a 1.33:1 1080p transfer, a mono track, two commentaries (one by scholar Dana Polan, another by filmmakers Steven Soderbergh and Tony Gilroy), an introduction from Peter Bogdanovich, a slate of featurettes, some radio excerpts, and some stills galleries. SRP is $39.95.

















Paramount will release The Duchess on Blu-ray Disc on 28 December (a Sunday). This Keira Knightley costume drama will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, three featurettes, and a set of trailers. SRP is $29.99.




















Luis Bunuel’s Simon of the Desert is coming to DVD from Criterion in February (exact date TBD). This inane comedy will arrive with a 1.33:1 transfer, a mono track, the documentary A Mexican Bunuel, and an interview with actress Silvia Pinal. SRP is $24.95.



















Criterion has announced a delay for their Blu-ray Disc release of The Man Who Fell to Earth. Instead of arriving this month, the title will now be available on 16 December. Specifications for the release haven’t changed, though; the film will come with a 2.35:1 1080p transfer, an uncompressed stereo track, a commentary by director Nicolas Roeg, David Bowie, and Buck Henry, a slate of interviews, some stills galleries ,and a set of trailers. SRP is $39.95.

















27 January will bring the Blu-ray Disc release of The Bourne Trilogy from Universal. This 3-disc set featuring the wildly successful Matt Damon films will arrive with 1080p transfers, DTS-HD 5.1 tracks, all the bonus features that accompanied the films’ latest DVD and HD DVD releases, and some BD Live features, to boot. SRP is $119.98.


















The Last Emperor’s arrival on Blu-ray Disc from Criterion has been postponed until the New Year. Specifications for the release haven’t changed, but now the film will be available for purchase on 6 January. The Oscar-winning film will arrive with a 2.00:1 1080p transfer, a DTS 5.1 track, a commentary by director Bernardo Bertolucci, producer Jeremy Thomas, screenwriter Mark Peploe, and composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, five featurettes, a set of interviews, and the film’s original trailer. SRP is $39.95.
















Paramount will release Ghost Town on Blu-ray Disc on 28 December. This Ricky Gervais comedy will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, a commentary by Gervais and director David Koepp, and three featurettes. SRP is $29.99.



















Criterion will release a stand-alone edition of Faces in February (exact date TBD). This John Cassavetes classic – originally available exclusively on the Five Films Criterion Cassavetes box set – will arrive with a 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, a mono track, an alternate opening to the film, and three featurettes. SRP is $39.95.


















Fox has announced plans to release The Rocker on Blu-ray Disc on 27 January. This Rainn Wilson comedy will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 track, two commentaries (one by director Peter Cattaneo and Wilson, the other by actors Josh Gad, teddy Geiger, Emma Stone, and Jason Sudeikis), some deleted scenes, a blooper reel, eight featurettes, a music video, some faux public service announcements, and four podcasts. Warner will release Poison Ivy: The Secret Society on Blu-ray Disc on 20 January. This fourth installment in the Poison Ivy franchise will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer and a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, but no bonus features will be included. SRP is $35.99.



















We have more specifications for the Magnolia Home Entertainment DVD release of Splinter. This Toby Wilkins-directed horror flick will arrive with an anamorphic widescreen transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, a handful of deleted scenes, and a set of featurettes. SRP is $26.98.



















The animated Wonder Woman is coming to Blu-ray Disc from Warner on 3 March. This bullets-and-bracelets addition to the WW pantheon features voice talents of Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion and will arrive with a 1.78:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, a set of featurettes, a commentary by DC Comics VP Gregory Noveck, producer Bruce Timm, director Lauren Montgomery, and screenwriter Michael Jelenic, some bonus Justice League episodes, and some previews. Universal will release The Express on Blu-ray Disc on 20 January. This Dennis Quaid football drama will arrive with a 2.40:1 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 track, a set of featurettes, a commentary by director Gary Fleder, some deleted scenes (with optional director commentary), and a BD-exclusive 1959 Syracuse National Championship featurette. John Cassavetes’ first feature film, Shadows, will be made available as a stand-alone release from Criterion in February (exact date TBD). Originally exclusive to the Five Films box set (just like February’s stand-alone release of Faces), the film will arrive with a 1.33:1 transfer, a mono track, a set of featurettes, a stills gallery, and the film’s trailer. Final specifications have been announced for MGM’s 27 January Blu-ray Disc release of Drumline. This Nick Cannon music-themed film will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 track, a commentary by director Charles Stone III, some deleted scenes (with optional commentary), and a set of featurettes. 28 December will bring the Blu-ray Disc release of Eagle Eye from Paramount. This blockbuster thriller starring Shia LeBeouf will arrive with a 1080p transfer and a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, but bonus features have yet to be announced. SRP is $39.95.



















13 January will bring the Buena Vista release of Brideshead Revisited. This remake of the hit British miniseries stars Emma Thompson and will arrive with a 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, a commentary by director Julian Jarrold, some deleted scenes, and a making-of featurette. SRP is $29.99.


















The 23 December Blu-ray Disc release of The Women from Warner has been postponed. This Diane English comedy has a new release date of 10 February. Specifications remain the same: a 1080p transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, two featurettes, and a set of deleted scenes. SRP is $34.95.



















The Blu-ray Disc release of The House Bunny from Sony has been moved up a week. The title will be available for purchase starting 19 December. Specifications for this release are intact: a 2.40:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, a set of featurettes, a music video (with an introduction), and some deleted scenes. SRP remains $38.95.


















24 February will bring the MGM DVD release of The Last House on the Left: Collector’s Edition. This legendary horror flick will arrive on this special edition release with an anamorphic widescreen transfer, a mono track, a commentary by actors David Hess, Marc Sheffler and Fred Lincoln, four featurettes, a deleted scene, a blooper reel, and some stills galleries. SRP is $19.98.


















We have final specifications for Fox’s 20 January Blu-ray Disc release of Unfaithful. This Oscar-nominated Diane Lane and Richard Gere drama will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 track, two commentaries (one by director Adrian Lyne, the other by Lane and actor Oliver Martinez), a sea of featurettes, some deleted scenes (with an introduction and optional Lyne commentary), and some director’s script notes. Anchor Bay’s Blu-ray Disc release of Henry Poole Is Here has been pushed back to 20 January. This Luke Wilson comedy’s specifications are the same. 27 January will bring the MGM release of College. This lovingly dumb-ass adolescent comedy will arrive with an anamorphic widescreen transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, and a blooper reel. SRP is $29.98.




















Criterion has announced that their November Blu-ray Disc release of Bottle Rocket has been postponed until 16 December. Specifications for this Wes Anderson debut feature haven’t changed. The film will come with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, a commentary by Anderson and co-screenwriter Owen Wilson, a making-of documentary, the short film that inspired the feature, some deleted scenes, two featurettes, and a giant stills gallery.
